Toast of Dearborn Toastmasters

Becoming better speakers and better leaders...

Toastmasters as storytellers? Of course! What better way to practice public speaking! Weave a story, add a spark of interest, a dash of fun and we are off. Storytelling, like any other speech, has a point, a message and is organized to impact, and possibly motivate, the audience. It is the perfect venue to practice body language and phrasing that will paint a picture.

We (all of us) have an opportunity to tell a story under a full moon and around a campfire. If there a more perfect setting? SMLC hosts a full moon campfire on the Saturday closest to the moon. This month it will be on August 16th. Want more info?

Full Moon Campfire
08/16/08
Saturday, August 16 at dusk
LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve, 2252 N Prospect Road, Superior Township, MI 48198 (entrance to campfire site is on Prospect Road half way between Geddes and Vreeland Roads)
All welcome to join SMLC friends for a summertime campfire at the LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve just north of Ypsilanti. The campfire will be lit at dusk but the gate will open at 4:00, so feel free to show up early to walk the trails. Bring friends, family, blankets, chairs, and campfire refreshments -- please, no pets. Contributing locally cut firewood is helpful and appreciated. Questions? Email Kate Pepin: kpepin@umd.umich.edu
